Two young artists from Taranto, the multi-instrumentalist Giampiero Frulli and the singer musician Angelica Bucci they have been on all digital platforms for a few days with their first single. The two are authors and performers of the piece mixed in binaural, according to a technique that allows the right ear and the left ear to perceive sounds separately, «Waldenseimkeit (Alone in the woods)». The duo is assisted by the producer and sound engineer Cosimo Galoppa. “2021 was the year of binaural music. Wearing a pair of simple headphones you can recreate a three-dimensional acoustic space and immerse yourself in the music. This song – tell the two musicians – is the first of a series of sound experiments in this 3D space, playing with synthesizers, voices, guitars, and anything else that stimulates our creativity and imagination ».

The word “Waldeinsamkeit” which appears in the title is in German and cannot be translated into other languages. It is composed of “Wald” (forest) and “Einsamkeit” (solitude) – they add – literally it is the precise sensation you get when you are alone in a wood, in balance between feeling part of nature and the fear of get lost in it. It is a kind of contemplative stillness that encourages inner reflection. This first work, Angelica and Giampiero let us know, will be followed by other passages which will each be the expression of an untranslatable word taken from different languages and cultures, but which have as their common thread the connection with nature and its phenomena.
