The court has questioned how much more time is left to complete the Satankulam case.
Jayaraj and his son Pennix, a businessman in Sathankulam, Thoothukudi district, were taken away by the police for allegedly opening a shop in violation of the curfew. The two men, who were later lodged in Kovilpatti jail, died in a row. Police arrested 10 policemen in connection with the case. The case has been transferred to the CBI and is under investigation.
Jayaraj’s wife had filed a case in the Madurai Lower Court seeking a speedy conclusion of the case. How much more time is left to complete the case of father and son who died in police custody in Sathankulam, Madurai branch of the High Court hearing the case today? That begs the question.
