The police media wing informed today (30.03.2023) that four students of Sabaragamuwa University have been arrested by the officers of the Criminal Investigation Department.
The four students have been arrested in connection with the attack on the new students of Sabaragamuwa University.
Four senior students who were arrested have been charged with assaulting and injuring new students in the name of sharing and entering the hostel where they were staying.
Arrested in Balangoda area
The four students were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department officials in Balangoda area.
Students from Dehiwala, Moratuwai, Ambalangodai and Velimadai areas have been arrested in this way.
They were released on bail after being produced in the Balangoda Magistrate’s Court, the police media wing said.
