“The mind behind “Shadow of Truth” speaks out on the prosecutor’s office’s arrogance and belief in the revelation of justice”

The murder case of Tair Rada has been the subject of much discussion among those who have refused to believe that Roman Zadorov is the real killer, despite his conviction by three courts. Yotam Gendelman, one of the creators of the documentary series “Shadow of Truth” on the case, recently spoke about the verdict that acquitted Zadorov due to doubt. The conversation took place on 103FM with Sion Cohen.

Gendelman expressed the hope that the series had an impact on the case and the evidence that was presented in court. He discussed the reason that led him and his partners to create the series in 2014, stating that they were intrigued by the different theories that emerged from the same set of evidence, and the doubt surrounding Zadorov’s guilt.

Gendelman also shared an encounter with smugness from the prosecutors, who congratulated themselves on the strength of their case during the screening of the first episode of “Shadow of Truth”. He noted that some of the evidence used to build a shocking profile of Zadorov as a psychopath, murderer, and pedophile was fabricated.

Gendelman recommended watching the new episode of “Shadow of Truth” on Hot 8, where Roman Zadorov speaks for the first time in a profound way, and many experts from various fields are interviewed. He also expressed the hope that the truth about the case would come out, including any possible pressure that might have been brought to bear on the trial.

The case of the murder of the late Tair Rada has occupied quite a few people over the years who refused to believe that Roman Zadorov was the murderer, despite his conviction in three courts. One of them is Yotam Gendelman, one of the creators of the series “Shadow of Truth” which dealt with the case and a new episode of which will be broadcast tonight (Thursday) on Hot 8. In a conversation with Sion Cohen on 103FM, Gendelman referred to the verdict that acquitted Zadorov due to the doubt.

Huge drama in court: Roman Zdorov acquitted of Tair Rada’s murder

At the beginning of his remarks, Gendelman said: “I hope we had an impact. I would be very proud if I knew we had an impact on the evidence as it was presented in court.”

He then referred to the reason that led him to create the series: “In 2014, Tair’s story that people knew more or less, was that a girl was murdered, but that’s where it ended. In 2014, I was a very young director, I worked with my partner Mika, who produced the things and there was Ari (Fines) who was a journalist. One day Ari told me that he had been sent to do an article about that Facebook group that started to come up with theories about the murder. It was relatively small at the time, but what we did understand very quickly is that you perceive how between the group and the prosecution there are different people, who use With the same evidence, completely different stories are brought up, and every time you listen to a certain story, you can be completely convinced. It takes place in an unimaginable arena, at noon today, no one has seen or heard. Basically, the idea started from that, we said, ‘It’s like an exercise in postmodern philosophy.’ In an attempt to find out the truth we set out, of course over the years our direction changed. Little by little we realized that the doubt about Roman’s guilt is so great that at the very least he deserves an acquittal.”

Later, Gendelman was asked if he and the other two creators encountered smugness that the investigation was conducted properly. To which he replied: “Yes. I remember when we screened the first episode in the prosecutor’s office, an episode that deals with the narrative in which he is guilty, to ask if there was anything else to add. They saw it, clapped their hands, were so sure of their rightness and strength. They also said very difficult, and this arrogance, we at the time knew that some of the evidence was not only incorrect but fabricated. Today a new episode is released, where, for example, you have the evidence of the computer.”

“They tried to build a profile of him as a pedophile,” Cohen pointed out, and Gendelman replied: “Exactly. But yes, suddenly you see how the police and the prosecutor’s office behind them build a profile of a psychopath, a murderer, a pedophile, anything that can be attached to a human being. What they realized is that we as people that they are young, I grew up on a computer, know inside and out, I remember when I first saw the original evidence I said ‘There is nothing here, I could put this on any person.’ They are building a shocking profile of a person who has a profound effect on the judges and this is natural , most of them are much older, not familiar with how people surf the Internet. Today we know that not only was this evidence not true of Roman, some of it was found on the computer years before he bought it. These things were somewhat obvious back then, and you see things like this and realize the smugness . However, we have always been and still are very big believers in the justice system, we always believed that justice was served. We also believe that within the attorney’s office there was indeed great arrogance in this regard, but as an organization to this day I am convinced that most of it is conducted in a truthful and transparent manner.”

In conclusion, he said: “I recommend watching our new episode of ‘Hot 8’, where Roman speaks for the first time in a profound way and many other experts from all walks of life. What happened there, none of us know, but if anyone remembers one morning the Honorable Judge Kola came to the court And he said that he is under pressure behind the scenes, he says things that should not be done in a reformed country, but he did not expand beyond that. I think about it today and I hope that now when the trial is over he will allow himself to say where those pressures came from. If there really are pressures behind the scenes, whether It’s through the media or directly, it has to be a crazy earthquake. If something like that happens it will be very sad.”
