Design Week, al Base torna ‘We Will Design’

Inclusion, diversity, equity. accessibility. From 17 to 23 April, Base brings the third edition of ‘We Will Design: We have an Idea’ to Milan design week. with designers from all over the world, schools, universities, international institutions, young students reflecting on the concept of plural and inclusive design. The aim is to activate a reflection on the concept of democratic, plural and inclusive design, capable of involving people of all ages, abilities, genders and cultures.

Throughout the design week, Base will present new projects, exhibitions, workshops and appointments that embrace the dimensions enclosed in the acronym Idea (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility). The plurality of design promoted by Base also narrates the path of co-conception and co-design with actors not generally included in the conversations and tools of contemporary design. “‘We Will Design’ is not just a space for storytelling and exhibition – the promoters underline – it is a path of experimentation that goes on all year round with residencies and international exchanges, in which design practices and experiences become a tool for read – and sometimes resolve – the many contradictions of our present. A testing ground for projects which, together with those of other designers, see the light and meet the public precisely on the occasion of the design week”.

For the occasion, ‘We Will Design’ will develop these reflections by presenting a large installation by Claire Fontaine which will welcome the public in the Ground Hall at Base; the ‘Temporary Home’ and ‘Exhibit’ design formats, featuring projects from around the world; ‘We Will Design – Kids’, with a series of child-friendly moments always linked to the values ​​of accessibility and inclusion and ‘We Will Design Music’, with a rich musical schedule in collaboration with Volvo Studio Milano and Le Cannibale.
