Away from home, Basketball Tricolor loses to São José

Basketball Tricolor lost to São José by 97-84 on Thursday night, at the Teatrão gym, in São José dos Campos, in a match valid for the NBB. The highlights of the match were Siewert (25 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist), Bennett (14 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist) and Elinho (11 points and 10 assists).

With no time to rest, Tricolor returns to the court next Saturday, to face Flamengo, at 6 pm, in Rio de Janeiro.

São Paulo started the match with Ansaloni, Siewert, Bennett, Miller and Elinho. Winger Túlio started the match on the bench, as he was recovering from a cut on his hand, but he entered during the game. Tyrone and Marquinhos remain out, recovering from ankle surgery and knee pain, respectively.

On the court, Tricolor struggled from the first quarter. São José was superior in the first half and won the period by 23 to 22. In the second quarter, the balance continued, but again the home team won: 25 to 22.

In the third quarter, the score was 21 to 21 and in the last quarter, once again São José managed to be a little higher and won the period by 28 to 19.
