A year after “the contaminated pizza affair”, the Nestlé group announced on Thursday the permanent closure of its Buitoni factory in Caudry (North), which was at the heart of this health scandal. The site produced Fraîch’Up frozen pizzas, which could have caused the death of two children and the poisoning of dozens of other Escherichia coli bacteria. A judicial investigation is open in Paris for manslaughter concerning two victims and involuntary injuries for 14 others.
