“Wolt”: Latvians are increasingly ordering intimate goods

by time news

As Līsa Ristāla, manager of “Wolt” in the Baltic States, explains, the increase in the number of orders for food and various daily demand goods can be explained by the desire of residents to find a quick solution in unexpected situations and make their everyday life as efficient as possible:

“If you have come home, but suddenly find that there are no more products for tonight’s dinner in the refrigerator, or when you come to work, you remember a colleague’s birthday, the situation can be resolved quickly and without wasting time. These are just some of the everyday situations that we all face, so e-commerce solutions that allow daily activities to continue without additional obstacles are valued more and more,” explains Ristāla.

According to the data collected by “Wolt”, purchases in adult or intimate goods stores are also becoming more and more popular on the platform, when the possibility of purchasing goods without the attention of others is valued. “When ordering goods from the platform, the aspect of anonymity is important, because you can shop alone, without attracting other people. Even today, some people do not want to be noticed when entering or leaving an intimate goods store, but on the platform such shopping can be done almost secretly,” explains Ristala.

Condoms and pregnancy tests, as well as various nutritional supplements, are often ordered through the platform. Orders also include musical instruments such as digital pianos and guitars, electronic goods (laptops, mobile phones and headphones) or tights and make-up.
