Nemours: a motocross driver on the run after injuring a police officer

by time news

Recurrent refusals to comply during police checks often degenerate. This was the case in Nemours, on the evening of Tuesday March 28. Around 7:30 p.m., a crew from the departmental intervention company (CDI) carried out a security operation in the Mont Saint-Martin district. The police saw a person riding on a motorcycle that was neither registered nor approved. The pilot’s face does not appear clearly because he wears a kind of balaclava or cap. The police signal to him to stop, but he refuses the control. Worse: he deliberately runs into one of the men in uniform.

According to the public prosecutor of Fontainebleau, Arnaud Faugère, “the driver who is driving fast hits him very violently and the policeman is thrown several meters away. He is injured in the leg, in the left knee in addition to dermabrasions. He got away with fifteen days of total incapacity for work (ITT) and one month off work.

The collision obviously unbalances the motocross rider and the other members of the departmental intervention company are preparing to challenge him when the unexpected happens: about thirty individuals suddenly tumble down. According to testimonies, the police were the target of projectiles and stone throwing. Despite the call for reinforcements, the situation remains complicated. “Their hostile and threatening behavior forced the police to retreat, which allowed the motocross rider to flee,” said the prosecutor.

Since then, an investigation has been carried out. A minor was arrested. In the immediate future, it is too early to say that it is the fugitive.

This violent episode marked the spirits and in particular the Alliance union. “Our first thoughts go to our colleagues, and especially the main injured. In his thirties, he is the father of a young child. He is going to meet a psychologist to find out the number of psychological ITT days. If he had been hit by a real motorcycle, he would be dead or disabled…”, insists Christophe Gonzalez, Seine-et-Marne regional secretary of the union, which is demanding 250 additional positions in the department. “The work is done in difficulty. We pull on the rope. Do you need a drama to be heard? »
