Tamil News | Wage increase; Government doctors are confused about incentives

by time news
CHENNAI: As there is confusion among more than 20,000 government doctors working in Tamil Nadu as to whether it is a salary hike or an incentive, there has been a problem in implementing the government order.

Tamil Nadu government doctors are said to be paid 40 thousand rupees less than other state doctors. Therefore, they have been struggling for many years demanding wage hike.

Meanwhile, in 2010, the government enacted Ordinance 354 to provide periodic pay and promotion. After the change of regime, the decree was shelved.

Following this, the government brought Ordinance 293 to provide incentives to government doctors on the basis of expertise and workload in 2021.

Through this ordinance, only some doctors will get incentives ranging from 75 thousand rupees to 4 lakh rupees per year.

At the same time, many doctors are said to receive low incentives.

Due to this, the government doctors are putting pressure on the government, with one party demanding periodic salary and the other demanding incentives based on workload.

Therefore, the government has faced problems in fulfilling the demands of the doctors.

Not ready to implement the Periodical Pay Hike and Promotion Ordinance. Because although many doctors work hard, some spend more time in their own clinics and private hospitals.

Therefore, the Government is ready to implement the Ordinance to provide incentives to doctors and specialist doctors serving with workload in government hospitals. Only then, there will be healthy competition among doctors. Eligible doctors can apply for the incentive.
