SAM: not only the doctor, but also the patient must take responsibility for a caesarean section performed at the woman’s request

After Member of the Seimas Morgana Daniela criticized the procedure for caesarean section operation at the request of the patient, the Ministry of Health Protection (SAM) emphasizes that during such a procedure, the entire responsibility cannot be left only to the doctor and part of it must be assumed by the patient, whose initiative the operation is performed. According to the Ministry, if the doctor does not make a decision that the patient needs a caesarean section operation, but the mother herself demands it, in this case the operation is not paid for from the PSDF budget.
