Shock in Haifa: Gal Yemnitzkei, the manager of one of the most important Facebook groups in the city – “Parents in Haifa (and not only)” – passed away under tragic circumstances and was buried on Friday in the Tel Regev cemetery.

Yemnitskyi worked in Bazan for many years and was known in the city both for his love of surfing and for being the head of a tribe in the Sea Scouts, under whom hundreds of trainees were educated. The many trainees and coaches at the Holmes Place branch of the Grand Canyon for more than a decade attest to him as a happy, smiling person, optimistic , funny and kind.

Yamanitzkei joined the management of the “Parents in Haifa (and not only)” group, which has about 44,500 members, in May 2015, about three years after his wife Neta Rotem Yamanitzkei opened it. Despite the large number of participants, the group is managed with a lot of respect for members, without shaming and without dis-recommendations. Posts that smell like fake news or a conspiracy theory are not approved in it, so it is recognized as a “clean” group.

With the publication of the notice of mourning for his death, which his wife uploaded on her private page, posts in memory of Yemnitskyi began to appear across the web.

God gave and God took away, how difficult it is to write about you in the past tense,” wrote Avraham Avishi Peretz, “You were such a dominant figure, such a funny person who loved life. You were a dear friend and person to me, the chemistry and humor that existed between us is something that only the two of us will understand. We were informed of the most terrible news, and all we have to do is digest, honor you on your last journey and perpetuate your name. My heart is broken into pieces, may your memory be blessed, dear friend.”

Aviv Keshet, a close friend who also works at Bazan and who documented over the years many experiences shared by him and Limnitsky during formation days, at concerts and trips abroad, wrote: “My dear friend, I can’t believe I won’t see you again. Thank you very much for ten years of A true friend. I will always remember you with your big smile and the big heart that always helped everyone. Rest in peace and watch over us from above. Love and already miss you very much.”
