The Cholaimalai Murugan Temple, the house of the Sixth Battalion, is located on the top of the Algarkovil hill near Madurai. Following were the closing ceremonies of the 4th Monday of the month of Karthika yesterday. In which 1008 Sangabhishek ceremony was held. In turn 1008 cones in the form of Om, Vail and Rooster flags were stacked on the paddy grain with white cones specially brought from Rameswaram in the Sashti Mandapa premises. All these cones were decorated with flowers of different colors including rose, amethyst and chrysanthemum. A royal Valampuri Sangam and 11 Valampuri Sangams were placed in front of the Utsavar Sannathi and special anointing took place with 3 Kumbha urns. Following the Sivacharyas, special Yakshala pujas were held on the last 4th Monday for the benefit of the world with 108 herbs to play Vedic mantras and accordion. Earlier, 16 types of anointings, including milk, fruit, butter, vibudhi, sandalwood, and Maha Deeparadhana were performed for Valli Deyvan Sametha Subramania Swami. Following this, Swami blessed the devotees in special attire. Special pujas were also held for Moolavar Swami, Vithaka Ganesha and Vail Sannathi. A large number of devotees of Lord Murugan and Ayyappa stood in a long line and saw Swami with ghee lamps.
