KPC: Al-Buri field produces about 23.5 thousand barrels per day, and it is the largest among the country’s offshore fields

The National Oil Corporation announced in the latest data the production of a number of Libyan offshore oil and gas fields.

The KPC statement listed a number of offshore oil and gas fields, which are the marine Al-Jurf and Bahr Al-Salam fields, pointing out in its statement that the most important of them is the Bouri field.

The corporation’s statement made it clear that the total production of offshore fields amounted to one billion cubic feet of gas and 42.5 thousand barrels of oil, stressing that the Bouri field is at the forefront of those fields.

The statement indicated that the Bouri field is the largest among the country’s fields in the Mediterranean, as it produces about 23.5 thousand barrels of oil per day, noting that the production of the marine Al-Jurf field amounted to 19 thousand barrels per day and the production of the Al-Salam field amounted to 1.4 billion feet of gas per day.

The Libyan National Oil Corporation stated the ownership of these fields and the years of their discovery and start of work in them, indicating that the Bouri field, which is located 120 km north of the Libyan coast in the Mediterranean Sea, has been managed by the Mellitah Oil and Gas Company since its production began in 1988, while it was discovered in 1967.
