Yolanda Diaz will be a candidate in the next elections general: “I want to be the first female president of Spain”asserted the creator of Sumar in the act in which she presented the platform as a political entity.

Last year, Díaz started Sumar as an initiative with which he intended, hand in hand with different formations, “to undertake the listening process with which to form a world of ideas to project a different country.” After a long process, he was able to verify, he explained, that could be useful in resolving social concerns and has made the decision to run with her in the general elections that will take place this year.

In the act of presentation of the candidacy, Sumar has had the support of more than 3,000 attendees, including personalities such as Íñigo Errejón, Ada Colau, Mónica García or Rita Maestre, with whom he had previously shown sympathy. On the other hand, he has not had the support of Podemos, whose general secretary, Ione Belarra, this Saturday urged Díaz to be included in some open primaries within the purple formation.
