Newcastle beat Manchester United in head-to-head in English

In the duel for third place in the English Championship ended better for Newcastle, who beat the Manchester United 2-0 on Sunday. With second-half goals from Joe Willock and Callum Wilson at St. James Park, the home team were vastly superior.

Newcastle drew with Manchester United on 30 points, but, having a superior goal difference, took third place. The team returns to the field on Wednesday to face West Ham away from home.

Manchester United, on the other hand, in addition to having lost third place, could still finish the round in fifth, depending on the result of Tottenham, who plays on Monday. The Red Devils’ next match will be on Wednesday against Brentford at Old Trafford.

The goals of the game

The first half was dominated by the home team. Manchester United felt the absence of Casemiro in the midfield and had great difficulty in building plays, as well as in marking. Newcastle reached the goal with danger a few times, but failed to score.
