A mass iftar meal took place near Hebron which was attended by dozens of Palestinian businessmen, dignitaries and civil administration officers who were invited to the event. The head of the Coordination and Liaison Directorate in Hebron, Lt. Col. Salim Said, was also present along with other officers. However, videos of the meal spread on the internet, causing embarrassment after well-known figures from the region were seen dining alongside Israeli officers. The terrorist organizations Hamas and Islamic Jihad condemned the event, calling it unacceptable normalization and a betrayal of the resistance against Israel’s aggression.
The mass iftar (breaking of the fast) meal that took place yesterday (Saturday) near Hebron was festive and was attended by dozens of Palestinian businessmen and dignitaries, along with civil administration officers who were invited to it.
In the documentation of the meal that was published on the networks, the head of the Coordination and Liaison Directorate (MATC) in Hebron Lt. Col. Salim Said is seen together with other officers who came to the joint meal – alongside Palestinian businessmen from Hebron, some of whom are close to the Palestinian Authority.
News 12 reported that the videos in which the well-known figures from the region are seen dining alongside the Israeli ones – spread on the Internet and led to great embarrassment. Hamas issued a statement of condemnation: “The iftar dinner organized yesterday by some individuals in Hebron, in the presence of Civil Administration officers, is unacceptable normalization and contradicts the values of our people in boycotting Israel, fighting against it and dealing with the policy of terrorism.”
“This meeting deviates from the norms, at the same time that the Israeli government oppresses our people and the settler groups have escalated their blatant aggression against the holy places, led by Al-Aqsa Mosque,” added the terrorist organization Hamas. “This behavior is a betrayal of the mitzvot of the martyrs, which call for an escalation in resistance and to hold on to arms.”
Islamic Jihad attacked: “We condemn the iftar dinner of the businessmen from Hebron with officers from the Civil Administration. These unacceptable acts come in the shadow of Israel’s crimes and the ongoing terrorism against our people. This is a stab in the back of the brave resistance that faces Israel and rejects aggression.”
