A 2-year-old boy was found last Friday (31) inside the mouth of an alligator in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States. Suspicions are that Thomas Mosley, father of little Taylen Mosley, is responsible for the crime.

Petersburg police officers saw the animal in a lake with an object in its mouth. As they approached, the agents realized that it was Taylen’s body, according to the Insider portal.

The authorities at the lake decided to shoot the alligator to rescue the boy, but he was already dead. The reptile was euthanized shortly thereafter. “We are sorry that it ended this way,” said St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway.

The search for the child began after the police found the body of the boy’s mother, Pashun Jeffery, with stab marks in the family’s apartment, last Thursday (30). Officers described the scene as “a very violent crime scene”.

The main suspect in the crime is Thomas, who was admitted to a hospital in the city, on Wednesday night (29), with cuts on his arms and hands. The American, who was still hospitalized until last Friday, refuses to speak to the police.
