Concerns raised about drowning incidents at Näset

The Rescue Service received a call about a drowning at Näset in the afternoon. Witnesses reported seeing a person in the water. The police and ambulance also responded to the scene. Shortly after 4:30 p.m., the Rescue Service received a call about a drowning at Näset. According to SOS Alarm, witnesses must have seen a person in the water.

– There is a person who is up now, says Åsa Opperud, the alarm and line operator at the greater Gothenburg rescue service.

The police and ambulance were also called to the scene.

– We have an alarm about a person in the water. That’s the only thing I can say right now, says Stefan Gustafsson, press spokesperson at the police.

Later on Monday afternoon, the police confirmed that the person was found dead in the water.

– We currently have no information about gender or age, says Stefan Gustafsson.

The police are investigating what may be behind the drowning and the body will be taken to forensic medicine.
