CHENNAI: Arrangements have been made for private connecting vehicles to facilitate access to seven ‘Metro’ stations including Central and Vadapalani.
In this regard, the Chennai Metro Rail Corporation issued a press release yesterday:
Chennai Metro Rail Corporation and Chennai Super Kings have decided to offer hassle-free travel to cricket fans during all IPL match days in April and May in Chennai.
Accordingly, cricket fans can use their ‘QR Barcoded’ tickets as train tickets to travel by metro train to IPL matches and return from the venue via Government Garden Metro Station.
Metro trains will also run till midnight. Similarly, it is allowed to take advantage of parking spaces at metro stations.
We have also provided the facility of private connecting vehicles from metro stations.
Accordingly, steps have been taken to operate private company foot taxis and autos in Alandur, Koyambedu, Tirumangalam, Chennai Central, Vadapalani, Airport and Wimco on the days of IPL and cricket matches.

Additional electricity
Train Services Additional electric trains are being run on the Chennai Beach – Velachery route on the occasion of the IPL cricket matches.
Therefore, for the convenience of passengers, additional electric trains will be operated from Chennai Beach – Velachery.
On the same days, the last train from Chepauk to Chennai Beach station will be operated at 12:51 midnight, according to the officials of Chennai Railway Division.
