(Full details of retention: (IPL Retention Live: 8 teams … Do you know who has retained whom? This is the official list!)
CSK:
Chennai Super Kings have retained Ravindra Jadeja (Rs 16 crore), Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Rs 12 crore), Moin Ali (Rs 8 crore) and Rudraj Kejriwal (Rs 6 crore). Chennai Super Kings management did not retain Faff du Plessis, the second highest run scorer in the much-anticipated IPL 14th season. Retaining Moin Ali in his place has caused great consternation among the fans.
It has been reported that the old three players are likely to return to CSKA in this situation. Let’s see about them now.
Vijay Shankar:
All-rounder Vijay Shankar made his debut for the Chennai Super Kings in 2014, conceding 19 runs. He was subsequently sacked and auctioned by Sunrisers Hyderabad. Since he played well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali series, it is expected that CSK will try to buy him during the mega auction.
Ravichandran Aswin:
Ravichandran Aswin played 97 matches for the Chennai Super Kings from 2009 to 2015, taking 90 wickets. He has been consistently showing excellent performance for the Indian team recently. In particular, his bowling is excellent in T20 matches as well. Thus, it is assumed that CSK will make adequate efforts to capture him.
Jason Holder
CSK did not retain Twain Bravo. CSK is expected to make a concerted effort to bid for his all-rounder Jason Holder. He took 16 wickets in 8 matches in the 14th season. Able to show action in interviews as well. It is noteworthy that in 2013 he was ranked at CSK.
