Manikandan, a college student from the Mudukulathur area in Ramanathapuram, was pronounced dead at the scene by Additional DGP, Police Law and Order, Thamaraikkannan.
A few days ago, Manikandan, a college student from Neerkozhiyenthalai, was taken away by the police and interrogated by the police. Manikandan, who later returned home, died suddenly, and relatives blamed the police for his death and refused to buy the body.
At the same time, the police explained that the student was not attacked and CCTV footage was released. However, parents and villagers refused to buy the body. The body was handed over to the parents after a re-examination at the Ramanathapuram Government Medical College Hospital by order of the Madurai branch of the High Court.
Following the autopsy, a press conference was held today by the police regarding the case. Speaking on the occasion, Additional DGP Tamaraikkannan said, “Manikandan’s body was autopsied twice. The RDO has been briefed and all kinds of investigations have been carried out under the leadership of the DGP. At the end of the autopsy, it was revealed that he had died in the ambulance.
Manikandan has committed suicide by poisoning himself. Suspicion has been raised on the part of Manikandan’s parents and an inquiry has been launched into the matter. This explanation has also been reported in the High Court. Manikandan’s parents have also been personally briefed by the police, ”said Additional DGP Tamaraikkannan.
