“More than 10% of Olympic athletes live with asthma and wins medals thanks to the right treatment. Therefore, the cornerstone of therapeutic objectives is the quality of life of patients who, if correctly framed from a therapeutic point of view, do not need any limits in everyday life”. So Paola Rogliani, full professor of diseases of the respiratory system at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, on the sidelines of the press conference entitled “Asthma question resolved?” promoted today in Milan by Chiesi Italia to present the triple extrafine Bdp/Ff/G association in a single inhaler to reduce the risk of respiratory crises.

“The therapy – says Rogliani – is made up of three molecules, namely an inhaled corticosteroid, a Beta 2 agonist, which is a bronchodilator associated with another bronchodilator with a different mechanism of action, and an antimuscarinic with a long duration of action: when are administered simultaneously, they favor a reduction of the inflammatory component, an element that characterizes the condition of asthma”. “It is a therapy that is set up when the asthma is no longer controlled by a therapy with two drugs in a single inhaler, i.e. inhaled corticosteroid and Beta 2 agonist”, he concludes.
