New Delhi / Abu Dhabi ാളി A loading worker who fell asleep in the cargo compartment of a flight from Mumbai landed in Abu Dhabi. The incident took place on an Indigo flight from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi on Sunday. The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said he had arrived safely in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi.
He was resting inside the plane after loading his luggage. Exhausted, he closed the cargo door without noticing what was inside. The worker woke up when the plane was taking off from Mumbai airport, officials said.
After landing in Abu Dhabi, local authorities conducted a medical examination of the loading worker and found that his health was satisfactory, officials said. After the inspection, he was flown back to Mumbai on the same flight with the permission of the Abu Dhabi authorities, the Director General of Civil Aviation said.
DCGA officials and an Indigo Airlines spokesman said the incident was being investigated.
