With 11 balls to spare, the defending champions have secured victory and have given a clear signal to the other teams. However, many wondered if Warner’s call to not bowl Axar Patel backfired. Warner was asked about his decision at the post-match presentation ceremony.
Axar scored 36 runs off 22 balls and gave a good performance in Delhi’s batting. There were high hopes that he would repeat his form with the ball as well, but captain Warner chose not to bowl Axar.

“Don’t think my decision was wrong. They showed how to adapt to Gujarat conditions. The point is we didn’t get the score we wanted.”
“Sai batted well. Miller did what he always does. With snow, it will be challenging if you don’t score 180-190. It was decided not to bowl Axar Patel considering the wicket and the match-ups.”
