Football: the interim president of the FFF Philippe Diallo elected to the executive committee of UEFA

by time news

The interim president of the French Football Federation Philippe Diallo was elected to the executive committee of UEFA at the Congress held on Wednesday in Lisbon.

Philippe Diallo, elected with 37 votes from UEFA’s 55 member associations, obtained one of the seven vacancies on the EC for which eleven candidates were in the running. France, which no longer had a seat in the “government” of the body since the dismissal by the FFF of its general manager Florence Hardouin, will thus continue to be represented there.

In the aftermath of France’s failure to obtain the organization of the Women’s Euro 2025, attributed to Switzerland, the meeting was very important for Philippe Diallo, eager to establish his legitimacy and not leave Lisbon with a weakened position while the FFF’s “Comex” is supposed to choose a candidate from among its members by June 10 to lead the “3F” until December 2024.
