A ship loaded with aluminum bound for Ukraine sank in the Mediterranean Sea off Turkey. Nine people are missing and the search is being hampered by the storm, according to Sky News.
A ship heading to Ukraine sank, nine people missing
The ship left the Turkish port of Iskenderun and was heading to Ukraine. On Wednesday morning, crew members issued an emergency call while the ship was near the Antalya region.
Five sailors were saved, but the intervention teams are also looking for the other nine crew members. The rescuers’ mission is hampered by the storm.
The cause of the ship’s sinking is unknown and an investigation has been launched.
