by time news

A new temporary change in the weather is expected for tomorrow, according to the National Observatory of Athens/meteo.gr, with rains and local storms in several areas of the country, snow in the mountainous mainland, strong winds up to 6 Beaufort, mainly in the seas and a drop in the maximum temperature in most continental parts.

In more detail, on Thursday, April 6, 2023, a new temporary weather change is expected from the west. Rain and sporadic storms will occur in most of the country. The phenomena that will be locally strong in the evening will be limited to Thrace, the Eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese. There is a possibility of hailstorms in the island’s main parts. Snow will fall in the continental mountains, with indicative altitudes above 1500 meters in the central and south and above 1100 meters in the north, while in Western Macedonia transient snowfall will occur in areas with lower altitude.

The temperature will vary, in Western Macedonia from -2 to 7 degrees, in the rest of Northern Greece from 2 to 14 degrees, in Thessaly from 5 to 15 degrees, in Epirus from 7 to 16 degrees, in the rest of the mainland from 7 to 18 degrees, in the Ionian Islands from 9 to 16 and on the Aegean islands from 10 to 18 degrees, while in Crete the maximum will reach locally 21-23 degrees Celsius.

The winds in the Central, Eastern and Southern Aegean will initially blow southwesterly with intensities of 5-6 Beaufort, gradually turning after noon to northwesterly with a slight weakening. On the contrary, in the Northern Aegean the winds will blow from north directions with intensities of 5-6 Beaufort, turning progressively to northwesterlies with the same intensities. In the Ionian, westerly southwesterly winds will initially blow with 5-6 Beaufort intensities, quickly turning to northwesterlies with the same intensities.
