From hybrid to electric: With an investment of $ 18 billion – the Japanese Toyota intends to increase its challenge in making all its vehicles electric, and by 2030, it will unveil 30 new models of Toyota and Lexus that are powered by electricity. Toyota President Akio Toyoda announced the new strategy and unveiled the prototype of the company’s bz series (beyond zero).

Toyoda made the statement during a press conference at the company’s showroom in Tokyo, where he announced that he had raised the company’s target for electric vehicle sales by 2030 to 3.5 million vehicles, out of 2 million it had previously announced.

The event unveiled the company’s electric car lineup, which includes 15 new models that are already slated for production soon. Among the models, commercial vehicles, saloons, SUVs, SUVs, sports cars and also two supercars.

By 2035, according to the company’s president, Toyota and Lexus, they will achieve completely carbon-free production.

Competitor in Shiomi

At the same time, it should be noted that just about two weeks ago, Shiomi, the third largest smartphone company in the world, announced that it would establish a plant for the production of electric cars in the Chinese capital. Production is expected to reach hundreds of thousands of vehicles a year.

The plant is to be built within two years and the expected number of cars, 300,000, according to the publications, is very impressive. The threat to American manufacturer Tesla is not in production capacity – as the latter is about to open another plant in Berlin – but in the prices charged by Shiomi, which may make it a market leader, as it has done to its competitors in the cellular industry.
