Manama > On the occasion of World Theater Day, Pratibha Natak Vedi presented two plays and lecture on ‘Arang and Me’. Renowned dramatist Babykuttan delivered the pen lecture. Babykuttan, who surprised the audience by playing six roles in a single play, shared the memories of his long life in theater with the audience. Rajesh Attachery presented a condolence motion on the death of actor Innocent and theater actor and director Vikraman Nair. Then a short drama called ‘Anaghratha Pushpam’ staged by Bonnie Jose based on the life story of famous actress Nilambur Ayesha was staged. Sreevidya Vinod, Ashita Harris, Shruti Ratheesh, Sadiq Thenala, Rejun Ranch, Shijo and Jayan Collarad played the role. Then a short play ‘Modasthithar’ written and directed by Jayan Melath was also presented. This short play addressed the male kesaris who empathetically present the problems faced by women in the society on stage, but do not implement it in their own lives and are so anti-feminist. The actors were Harish Payyannur, Rajneesh Cheleri and Shibilkhan. Pratibha President Adv: Joy Vettiyadan presided over the program held at Pratibha Hall. Pratibha Chief Patron P. Sreejith handed over the gift of Babykuttan pen. The award for theater director Bonny Jose was handed over by Patron Committee member S. Veeramani and the award for director Jayan Melam was handed over to CV Narayanan, member of Loka Kerala Sabha and member of Pratibha Rakshtadhikari Samiti. Art Department Convenor Anagha Rajeevan gave the welcome speech and Pratibha Treasurer Mijosh Morazha gave the vote of thanks. Patron committee members NK Veeramani, Sharif Kozhikode, Central Committee members Mijosh Morazha, Anil Kannapuram, Natak Vedi members Durga Kashinath, Smitha Santhosh, Kannan Muharakh and Rajesh Attachari presided over the programme.
