An 80-year-old grandfather and a 70-year-old grandmother died tragically after being brutally attacked by their grandson.
The incident took place last night in Navanivasa Navalagama Pallageduva area under Pallageduva police division.
Hospital admission
It is reported that while the grandfather and grandmother who were the targets of the attack were admitted to the Demodara Hospital for treatment, the grandfather died at the Demodara Hospital and the 70-year-old grandmother was transferred to the Badula General Hospital for further treatment, but she succumbed to her injuries there.
Proceedings of Arrest
The Pallaketuva police said that Baran, the suspect in this incident, is absconding and they are taking steps to arrest him. The police also said that the said grandson was a drug addict.
