Three individuals were involved in a car accident on Wednesday on road 5066 from Mikir to Emanuel. The accident was between a bus and a Palestinian car. Unfortunately, the driver of the car, a 50-year-old Palestinian man, died at the scene. The MDA medics and paramedics attended to the scene and took two injured individuals to hospitals. A 23-year-old Palestinian woman suffered a serious multi-system injury and was taken to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva, while the bus driver, a 28-year-old man, sustained a minor injury and was taken to Meir Hospital in Kfar Grandfather. The Ihud Hatzla medics confirmed that the incident was a car and bus accident. The driver of the car was rescued by fire crews, and first aid assistance was provided by ambulance teams from the Rescue Union and IDF medical teams. Additionally, the mental first aid unit of the Rescue Union’s resilience teams operated on the scene to provide assistance to the passengers involved in the fatal accident. MDA paramedic Mittal Sharvit and senior medic Hazi Gutman described the accident as a severe one involving a bus and two vehicles. The driver of one vehicle was found unconscious and in critical condition, and despite numerous medical tests by the rescue operations, the team had to pronounce him dead. The other injured person was a 23-year-old woman who was taken to Linson Hospital for further treatment. The road was closed in both directions, and police officers were on scene to direct traffic. Finally, the public was advised to follow the police’s instructions.

Haim Kraif, Elkana Khoza, and Hanan Afik, medics of the Ihud Hatzla, said: “This is an accident involving a car and a bus. The body of the driver of the car was recovered from the vehicle by fire crews. With the help of an ambulance team of the Rescue Union and medical teams of the IDF, we provided assistance to the female passenger of the vehicle who was in serious condition and to the bus driver who was slightly injured. Also: due to the nature of the incident, the resilience teams of the Union of Rescue’s mental first aid unit operated on the scene and assisted the passengers of the bus involved in the fatal accident.”

MDA paramedic Mittal Sharvit and senior medic at MDA Hazi Gutman said: “This is a very serious car accident involving a bus and 2 vehicles. The driver of one of the vehicles was captured unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing with a very severe multi-system injury, while For the rescue operations, we performed medical tests, but his injury was critical and in the end we had to pronounce him dead. A 23-year-old woman who was next to him was seriously injured, and after initial life-saving treatment in the field, she was taken to Linson Hospital in an MDA intensive care unit for further treatment. The bus driver, who was slightly injured, was taken to Meir Hospital by MDA ambulance. The passengers of the bus and the passengers of the other vehicle involved in the accident were checked on the spot and did not require medical treatment.”

The road is closed in both directions. The police forces are directing the traffic. The driving public is asked to obey the instructions of the police officers.
