Karaikudi, : In Karaikudi Municipality, the work of connecting domestic sewage to underground sewers has started at an estimated cost of Rs.6 crore.

In 2017, in Karaikudi municipality, a cellar project was started at a cost of Rs.112.5 crore.

In all areas, pipe laying work was done. A new road was subsequently constructed. The trial run took place after the completion of the underground sewer work by the Water Supply and Drainage Board. After testing, it was handed over to the municipality and the work of connecting the residential waste to the underground sewer began yesterday.

32 thousand residences in Karaikudi Municipality are to be provided with connection. First of all, the work of connecting pipes to 7 thousand 250 residences at an estimated cost of Rs.6 crore was started yesterday.
