Tamil News | A sturdy wall at a light weight

by time news
It has already been proven that building with 3D printing is economical. Building ‘3D printers’ build buildings using less materials like iron, sand, cement etc. Now scientists from the University of Michigan in the United States have gone one step further.

With the new 3D printing method they have developed, the walls can be built in any desired shape. Not only that, the weight of the wall is reduced by up to 72 percent. At the same time, the Michigan researchers reported that the strength of the walls was on par with that of walls typically constructed with reinforced concrete.

All you have to do is check where the walls weigh more and where less on a computer model and feed those notes to the builder’s 3D printer. Shaped beauty builds walls with less weight and less rigidity. So, a 72 percent reduction in construction costs? When will this printer come to India?
