The shooting of “Joker: Folie à Deux” is over. Director Todd Phillips thanked his crew and leads Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix. The film is scheduled to hit theaters in 2024.

The sequel to the dark “Joker” film adaptation from 2019 is finished. “That’s it,” US director Todd Phillips wrote on Instagram, thanking “these two”, the entire cast and the “best crew” the film industry has to offer.

He also posted two photos of his main actors Lady Gaga (37) and Joaquin Phoenix (48). The actress and singer looks directly into the camera with black-rimmed eyes and a red-smeared mouth. Phoenix, in his role as the emaciated Batman antagonist, is seen with white makeup on his face and a red-rimmed mouth.

Phillips began filming Joker: Folie à Deux in December. He will now “go into a cave”, i.e. the editing studio, and assemble everything, he said.

The hit movie ‘Joker’ (2019) starred Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, a failed comedian who suffers from severe mental health issues and lives on the fringes of Gotham City society. Phoenix won the Oscar for best actor, and the thriller won the Golden Lion for best film at the Venice Film Festival. The studio Warner Bros. has announced the theatrical release of part 2 for October 2024.
