Shortly before the first break, Fabian Dietz falsified a shot from Simon Gnyp dangerously (18th). Ice pirate defender Mario Scalzo made an unfortunate figure at the beginning of the second period when the Tower Stars set the course for victory. After the 37-year-old veteran lost the disc in the neutral zone, David Zucker was able to give the guests a 1-0 lead after a solo effort (25th). A little later, the defender lost the duel against Sam Herr in front of his own box, who brought his bat to a shot by Julian Eichinger and increased it to 2-0 (29th). Crimmitschau responded with a short pressure phase, which brought chances for Dominic Walsh (31st), Scott Timmins (32nd) and Mathieu Lemay (33rd). After looking at the video evidence, which also provides a bird’s eye view of the goal, the referees gave the guests the third goal. Apparently, James Bettauer first brought the puck and then ice pirate keeper Luka Gracnar into the goal in the confusing situation (33rd). In a final third with few highlights, the West Saxons still lacked luck. Since Scott Timmins (48th) and Scott Feser (55th) failed from good positions, not even the consolation goal was achieved.
At the ice pirates only coach Marian Bazany and goalkeeping coach Andrew Hare were behind the gang on Tuesday evening. Assistant trainer Alexander Sulzer was not in action.
