Apple’s Weather app has been down for 14 hours

by time news

Apple users were left in the dark, or forced to look out the window, after the weather app on their iPhones stopped working again. The app began experiencing problems yesterday (Wednesday) at 11:00 PM EST, which were resolved more than 14 hours later, according to a message on Apple’s support site.

“This service was probably slow or unavailable,” the message says, without giving an explanation for the suspension of activity.

Users had earlier uploaded screenshots of their app to social media, with two dashes where the temperature should have appeared. “We are aware of this and are working to get the service back up and running,” is how Apple responded to the users’ posts. Apple’s Weather app provides an hourly weather update and additional information, such as air quality, wind speed, and the chance of precipitation.
