But the US sent its country’s top leaders there to support Taiwan. Accordingly, the then Speaker of the US Parliament, Nancy Pelosi, visited Taiwan. Following this, China engaged in activities including missile tests in Taiwan waters.
In this situation, Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen visited America to meet the current Speaker Kevin McCarthy. China had warned the US not to hold this meeting. But despite that, the two met and talked in a library in the state of California. At that time, it seems that he acknowledged China’s threat to Taiwan and assured that the US would provide its full support to Taiwan. This action by the US has further angered China.
