The Ministry of Health intends to announce today (Wednesday) new red countries alongside all the countries of Africa, Britain, Denmark, with Germany and Belgium also expected to be red soon. Stricter elements reportedly wanted to declare the entire EU red due to the ability to move from country to country easily, but in the meantime it was decided to treat each country separately. In addition, the US is also targeting and according to senior Ministry of Health the intention to close the whole world due to the corona when each country will be given 72 hours of warning to allow the public to prepare.
The criterion for red countries is 10% morbidity in Omicron, the new strain that has so far spread around the world although it is very possible and its morbidity is milder than the normal strain.
According to current procedures, it is forbidden to fly to a red state without the approval of an Exceptions Committee, and returning from it requires seven days of isolation. According to the new outline although only “unprotected” will be referred for isolation in a motel and they will stay there only if their PCR test is positive but the need for long isolation will make the flight and return from these countries difficult and lead to a kind of “sky closure”.
According to the decision, from next Friday, “protected” (according to the definition of the Ministry of Health) who return to Israel from red countries after the test at Ben Gurion Airport, will sign the “agreement” and enter home isolation for seven days, at the end of which they will be required to perform another PCR test. That is, they will be released from isolation.
In contrast, the unprotected returnees from red states will be referred for isolation in a motel and only after receiving a negative result from the test upon landing will they be transferred to home isolation but forced to sign a “contract” that will allow the state to track their phone to make sure they maintain isolation. An insulator who refuses the conditions of technological supervision and the details specified in the law will be forced to stay in a motel on behalf of the state for all the days of isolation.
At the same time, the government is promoting the green label in malls. The decision must receive the approval of the government and the approval of the Knesset’s Constitution Committee headed by Karib, who has previously expressed his opposition to such a decision. There are also some in the government who oppose the decision and claim that it is discriminatory and not at all epidemiologically committed.
According to the proposed outline, the green label rules will be applied to all closed commercial complexes (malls and the like) that are over 10,000 square meters, as follows – at the entrance to the complex, the green label will be scanned by security personnel, Daily) that will allow you to move freely around the mall.It will be exempt from presenting a green sign to anyone who enters supermarkets or pharma stores even if not vaccinated.

The mall owners are of course opposed to the decision which is likely to hurt them severely and make the shops in the malls less accessible. Yesterday, the “Malls and Shopping Centers Forum” announced that it strongly opposes the idea of applying the green label to stores in malls, and the requirement to mark customers by vaccinated and unvaccinated.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health announced that the number of verified for the omicron strain in Israel has risen to 89. Of these, 57 came from South Africa, England, France, USA, UAE, Hungary, Italy, Namibia, Tanzania, Germany and Turkey; 21 verified who came in contact with returnees from South Africa, England and France; and 10 who became infected in the community (in three different events) .
Of those 89 verified, 21 were “unprotected” and 67 were “protected.” Of the 239 verified and those with “high suspicion”, 94 have symptoms, 143 have no symptoms at all.
