PSG: nod to the 2000s for the next jersey?

by time news

This Friday morning, the Footy Headlines site, which usually reveals the tunics of the teams, published the first images of the possible Paris Saint-Germain jersey for the coming season. A jersey that would return to the traditional colors, a navy blue, an offset red stripe surrounded by thin white stripes. The return to the BBRBB color code (blue-white-red-white-blue) harkens back to a modernized version of the jersey from the early 2000s seasons, including the Thomson-sponsored tunic worn by Ronaldinho during his Paris years.

Each year, the jersey is a big subject of debate and concern among PSG lovers. In its last press release, the CUP (Collectif ultras Paris) thus renewed with the management its requirement for a lasting return of the Hechter jersey. Two years ago now, the CUP had also asked for a boycott of the jersey for the 2021/2022 season. The reason ? A tunic which, in the eyes of many, did not represent the club enough.

Will next season’s jersey satisfy them knowing that one detail differs from the historic model: the red stripe which is not centered and does not take up the entire length.
