The story of the film is based on Benjamin’s famous novel Adujeevita. Prithviraj plays the role of Najeeb, an expatriate. Amala Paul plays the role of his wife.

The camera is handled by K. U. Mohanan and sound mixing is done by Rasul Pookkutty. But the background music and songs of the film are prepared by the famous music director A. R. It is Rahman. After 27 years A. R. Adujiweethu also has the special feature that Rahman is coming back to Malayalam cinema.
