Bangalore: Group captain Varun Singh dies after being injured in a helicopter crash in Coonoor. Today is the end of the morning. The death toll from the helicopter crash has risen to 14. Varun Singh was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Air Force Command Hospital in Bengaluru. Doctors said they were trying to bring Varun Singh back to life, despite suffering 80 per cent burns. Varun Singh sustained severe burns to his hands and face in the accident. The group captain was airlifted by an air ambulance from Wellington Hospital to the Air Force Command Hospital in Bangalore on Thursday.

Last year, an aircraft driven by Varun Singh was involved in an accident. But it was his skill as a pilot that saved Varun Singh’s life. The aircraft suffered a serious technical failure while flying high. But realizing the problem, he adjusted his height and landed the aircraft without giving up. On Independence Day, the country honored Varun Singh for his bravery and ability by giving him a chakra. The accident happened again while serving as the directing staff at the Wellington Defense Service Staff College. Varun Singh went to Sulur to receive Bipin Rawat. Varun Singh’s father is retired Colonel KP Singh. His brother Tanuj is also a Navy officer. Last Wednesday, a Mi-17V5 helicopter carrying 14 people crashed in Coonoor near Ooty. Thirteen people, including Joint Chiefs of Staff Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat, were killed on the day of the accident.
