A lot comes down to the citizen. The Dutch are expected to adapt to major changes as a result of climate change or the nitrogen crisis. Will he accept the challenge or will he dig his heels in? What is the role of the government? Does it have a compelling story and does it involve citizens in the change process?
These are questions that Will Tiemeijer (1964) has been dealing with throughout his working life. He obtained his doctorate in 2006 with a thesis entitled The secret of the citizen: about the state and public opinion research.
