The first time with the Lion usually scares the taxpayer who needs to file the Income Tax declaration, but most of the time the declaration is quite simple, especially for those who have only one source of income.
SEE, BELOW, THE STEP BY STEP TO MAKE THE 2023 IR DECLARATION:
1) Find out if you are really obliged to declare
The main condition that obliges a person to declare the IR is to have received, in 2022, taxable income (such as salary, retirement, pension, for example) above R$ 28,559.70
Check in this link all the conditions that oblige to deliver the IR 2023
2) Separate the documents
If you are obliged to make the declaration, separate in a folder all the documents you need to report to the Lion. The ideal is to gather these documents throughout the year in a single folder. Documents must contain CPF or CNPJ of who paid and who received and must be kept for at least five years
See the list of documents that are required to file the IR declaration
3) Download the IR declaration program
Go to the IRS page and download the program of the IR 2023 declaration.
When opening the program, it is possible to choose between downloading the pre-filled declaration, importing the data sent from the previous declaration or starting with a blank declaration. Those who opt for the pre-filled declaration will have priority in receiving the declaration.
It is also possible to declare by cell phone, through the My Income Tax application, in addition to making the declaration online, directly from the Recipe page

The Taxable Income Received from Individuals/Abroad form must be completed by those who received income from that source, such as income from rent or self-employment provided directly to individuals or received from abroad. These incomes must be informed month by month.

5) Make the option for taxation
The taxpayer can choose two models to send the declaration: by legal deductions (complete model) or the simplified one, which already corresponds to a deduction of 20% of the amount of taxable income in the Annual Adjustment Declaration, limited to R$ 16,754.34.
The program will inform you if it is better to submit the complete model (legal deductions) or the simplified one. The best decision is the one in which the taxpayer has more tax to refund or less tax to pay.
In this example, the best option would be delivery of the complete model, which would give the taxpayer the right to refund BRL 3,845.41. If opting for the simplified model, the taxpayer would have to pay BRL 2,710.23
6) Check pending issues
This chart is very useful because it shows if we are forgetting to inform some data. The red triangle indicates an error and prevents the recording and transmission of the statement. The yellow triangle is a warning and does not prevent delivery.
7) Submit the declaration
To deliver the declaration, simply click on the ‘Deliver Declaration’ button.
Those who are required to make the declaration must submit it by 11:59 pm on May 31 in order not to pay a fine. When sending is finished, the program generates a receipt.
The taxpayer who has tax to refund and chooses to receive via Pix will have priority to receive the refund. The Pix key must be the taxpayer’s CPF. Anyone who enters into tax payable must settle the first installment or single quota on May 31.
Anyone who wants to pay the tax via automatic debit needs to make this option until May 10th, so that the first installment of the tax to be paid is automatically debited
