Kuwait City: Kuwait prepares to revoke illegally acquired and illegally held licenses About 2.5 lakh foreigners are likely to lose their driving licenses. Licenses are revoked for those who do not have a fixed salary limit and for those whose licenses obtained while working in a position eligible for the license have not been returned despite the change of job. Kuwait’s move is to launch a new licensing scheme to replace the existing ones.

Kuwait currently has more than 30 lakh driving licenses. Of these, about 10 lakh licenses are old-fashioned. Kuwait aims to replace them. The new system will be completed within three months, officials said. Abdullah al-Turaiji MP said the number of cars owned by foreigners should be limited to two. Foreigners who need more cars are advised to apply to the Department of Transportation.
