A 37-year-old woman drives snakingly on the A61 with a flat tire. A police check reveals that she is under the influence of alcohol and cocaine. Also in the car: the woman’s two children.
UUnder the influence of cocaine and alcohol, a 37-year-old mother got behind the wheel – and was noticed driving snaking on the Autobahn 61. Her children, aged 10 and 17, were also in the car. A patrol from the Ruchheim (Rhineland-Palatinate) police motorway station became aware of the car on Saturday afternoon. “On closer observation, the officers also noticed that the left front tire of the car was flat, they could hear the grinding noises in the patrol car,” the police statement said.
After the driver continued her journey undeterred, she was checked at a rest area. It was found that she was under the influence of cocaine and alcohol: the cocaine had been detected by a rapid drug test, and she also smelled strongly of alcohol, said a police spokesman on request. A breath alcohol test was not possible because of her condition – the spokesman could not say why.
And the car didn’t have liability insurance. The vehicle key and driver’s license were confiscated. The 37-year-old is now expecting several criminal charges.
