The financial institution will pay a gross dividend of 0.2306 euros per share, which corresponds to a total of 1,730 million euros.
Of this total, 550 million euros are earmarked for the La Caixa banking foundation and 300 million euros for the Spanish State.
Over the past five years, the La Caixa Foundation has received €1,550 million in dividends from CaixaBank.
The State, through the FROB (Spanish executive resolution authority), has added 1,000 million euros in dividends since 2019.
The payment of the dividend was approved at the general meeting of shareholders and represents an increase of 58%, compared to what had been determined in view of the results of 2021.
The bank’s management announced that, in the current year, it intends to distribute between 50% and 60% of the consolidated net profit, to be paid, in a single installment, in April 2024.
CaixaBank is also present in Portugal and has a majority stake in BPI’s capital.
