The Spanish company Binter inaugurates the Lanzarote-Guelmim line

by time news

The Spanish airline Binter, based in the Canary Islands, inaugurated on Saturday an air link between the city of Guelmim and Lanzarote (Canary Islands).

After a 70-minute flight, a Binter ATR72 plane landed at Guelmim airport around 1:10 p.m., coming from César Manrique airport in Lanzarote, with 28 passengers on board. Upon its arrival on the tarmac of this airport platform, Binter’s plane was greeted by the traditional “water salute”.

This new line will be provided every Saturday in return. It comes on top of another road-link launched last year between Guelmim and Las Palmas.

A plane will leave Lanzarote airport every Saturday at 12:00 p.m., landing at Guelmim airport at 1:10 p.m. The return flight is scheduled for 1:55 p.m.

The director of Guelmim airport, Abdelouahab Chaabaoui, stressed that this airline will strengthen the air service of the city of Guelmim and facilitate the movement by air of the inhabitants of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, many of whom live to the Canary Islands, adding that this airline will also contribute to the promotion of tourism in the region.

Chaâbaoui noted, moreover, that air traffic at Guelmim airport experienced a recovery during the year 2022, exceeding by 143% the level of activity recorded during 2019. The airport welcomed more than 19,000 passengers on board more than 560 flights.

As a reminder, Binter announced on March 16 the largest connection program in its history in Morocco, integrating three new direct connections between the airports of the Kingdom and the Canary Islands.

The new connections are added to the Binter network in Morocco and will connect, in addition to Lanzarote to Guelmim, the airport of Gran Canaria to that of Essaouira, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and to that of Tangier, on Wednesdays.
