You can now listen to voicemails on WhatsApp before sending them

WhatsApp has released an update that includes an improvement in the user experience when sending voice messages. The new feature allows you to stop recording and listen to the recording, then decide whether to send or re-record. The company announced the update in a video posted on Twitter demonstrating its use.

To use the new option, press and hold the record button, then move it up. This will switch to recording mode and cause three buttons to appear – send or throw in the trash. The third and new button allows you to pause and listen to the recording, then choose whether to confirm sending or throw in the trash.

This feature joins other enhancements in voice recordings that WhatsApp has introduced recently, such as the ability to set the speed of listening to messages. It was also reported that the company is working on the option to pause recording a message as well as the option to continue listening to voicemail even when leaving the app window. These features already exist in the beta version of WhatsApp and can be expected to find their way to all users in the future.

As always, the current feature is not distributed to all users at once but gradually, so if you have not yet received it you can expect this to happen in the near future.
