Unidas Podemos will present amendments to the socialist reform of the ‘law of only yes is yes’ | Spain

by time news

The Minister for Equality, Irene Montero, has advanced this Monday the lines of the partial amendments that United We Can plan to present in Congress to the reform of the Law on Sexual Freedom, known as the law of only yes is yes, and whose submission period ends today. According to Montero, “they are in line with what ERC and Bildu have already proposed”, and they want the PSOE, a government partner and promoter of legal change to prevent future reductions in sentences for sexual offenders, to reflect on the need to reach an agreement with the rest of the formations. “These amendments have to be an opportunity for the PSOE to think about it, to improve the law and that it is worked with the feminist majority of the Chamber,” the minister said in an interview on TVE.

“We are going to make proposals from the autonomy of each organization and each party within that investiture majority. They all go in the same line, in reinforcing [en el Código Penal] violence and aggravating circumstances. But above all thinking that the fact that the majority of the investiture goes along the same lines would have to make the PSOE reflect and would have to make possible an agreement between the PSOE and the feminist majority that supports the Government and the reform serves to reinforce rights and not go back on rights at the hands of the PP ”, has detailed the leader of Podemos.
